That's a load of ***** I get it that their "brace" is damn close to being a stock, but the whole Pistol/SBR nonsense is ridiculous. It shouldn't matter how long my pistol is. The whole 16" barrel rule is dumb as ****

ATF isn't going to do a damned thing. Q might not be able to sell them as pistols anymore, but you can still build it very easily - and cheaper.

Q was about to release their brace to be sold to the public. I was actually looking forward to buying one. I like their design.

This basically opens the door for the ATF to designate any firearm with any type of pistol brace is designed to be fired from the shoulder and will therefore be characterized as an NFA item.

But what if it self identifies as a pistol?

All magazines larger than 10 rounds NFA Items ($200+ background check + registration) each mag

Average Glock goes from $500 to $1,100, plus whatever the NFA wait is (1 month to 1 year)

Why do agencies make decisions about this stuff rather than the people who are responsible for making laws?

Yes I've seen Biden's plan. I wouldn't piss on a Biden voter if they were on fire (unless I had just chugged a gallon of gasoline). I just find it funny/annoying/tiresome when Trump gets blamed for all that is wrong. Yep, he f'd up royally with bump stocks. But he didn't send a letter to honey badger.

Trump hasn't been strong on the 2A, but we're about to see what a radical left government will do in a few short months. Once the parties are over and the dark blue house, senate, and senile old racist are sworn in, we'll see gun control that makes NY and CA look downright friendly.

For the record this is not in anyway a defense of Trump on 2a issues. It's one of my primary gripes about the guy.

Trump told the Department of Justice to reinterpret the regulations to say bump stocks turn semi-autos into machineguns. By that logic he also could also be Pro-Gun and make up any definition of what consists of a pistol. Trump has set a precedent that the President can reinterpret firearm definitions as he pleases.

That's one of those things, along with red flag law and AWB statements, people have forgotten about him. Honestly the bump stock crap is quite scary...

Honest question: how many ARs were built with pistol braces due to that letter? It would be hard to turn it around and make thousands if not millions of gun owners criminals. I'm sure they will try but it will come with some serious backlash.

why would it be hard to turn around? ATF issued a letter stating bump stocks were not a firearm to be regulated and did not turn a semi-auto into a machine gun, spurring hundreds of thousands to be made and sold (estimate i saw was 500,000), and then turn around, reversed that decision and made thousands of gun owners criminals if they didn't hand them over or destroy them. And on top of that didn't even compensate anyone for the government taking of $100 million of private property. and other than a few lawsuits the American public basically either cheered in agreement or shrugged their shoulders.

A ton were. Just look at the majors. All have pistols available. 9 inch...10....11....12...a crap ton.
