According to this post it looks like it was manufactured in 1954: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/showthread.php%3ft=1080258&=1

Next is a Rohm RG 8 pocket 22lr revolver. Didn't have a clear serial number. We think my grandad picked this up in Europe in the 1970's. Help on when this gun was made would be great, too.

RG handguns have been available in the United States since the 1960's when they opened a manufacturing plant in Florida. To be blunt RG's are cheaply made and are not very valuable. The .22 models are the original Saturday Night Special's.

When my father in law passed away in 1992 I found an RG pistol in .38 Special in his desk. It would shoot every other cylinder. 12 trigger pulls to fire six rounds. Tried to sell it to a pawn shop but they would only offer me $20. Got $30 in a private sale.

I found an old Rohm in my Aunt's dresser after she passed many years ago.

Took it to Burdetts to see about what it was worth. They said I could pay them $20 and they;d throw it away for me.

Now its a wall hanger.
