I've 2 Silver pigeons (26 and 32") and an A300. I'm handing down the A300 to the boy and getting that A400. I like to shoot Dove and Turkey and the 400 on a dove hunt can't be beat. Great choice!

Those are good sporting guns thats for sure, get ya a good LM choke or M choke and call it good!

This model comes with 5 of the Optima extended chokes: C, IC, M, IM, F.

Worked with a skeet coach last week shooting my cheap 20 gauge Turk O/U and was doing fine with C and IC chokes in it.

Got the IC in right now, going to go break it in tomorrow morning and see how it does. Going to get back with the coach I worked with last week when he gets back in town so he can help me use the shims that came with it to fit the gun a bit.

I put away my A400 when I finally got around to picking up a SP. Hard to beat an o/u for dove season.

For STexas whitewing shooting I want that 3rd shot! Same with Turkey, I had 4 toms come in last year and got 2 with a shot at a 3rd (4 bird county). I use the over unders for clays and all upland birds. Man can not have enough. Before I die I'll also have a DT11

So a IC is great on a skeet course and on a short Sporting clays course, but on a medium to long course a LM or M will get you those busted long birds! Most guys i know that shoot alot with a semi use a LM its the good between'er. But not having a LM, a M will work just fine. Also that is not me saying it cant be done with a IC, I have seen some true pro's do it with full or skeet and win matches!

I am a huge Beretta fan myself. I bet you enjoy that gun!

You got in my head and I ordered a LM and Skeet choke to round out the set.

Really don't want to be one of those "pick a choke for each station" guys, especially since my fundamentals aren't honestly good enough for it to matter.

I've heard a great story about a 3 gunner who had two chokes (IIRC he was running IC and IM). He scribbled "near" and "far" on each and thats all the thought he put into it. That sounds like me.

So I have done the swap chokes at each station and shot an entire course with my M over IC (I'm an over under guy). I have seen me pic on average a bird or two up by swapping, but only if really needed. Reading a station is 90% of shooting sporting clays, knowing the difference of needing to swap from a constructed or wider choke is part of reading the station. Another biggie is knowing how your gun patterns with which ammo, a lot of people ignore this but it's actually pretty important.

Can't beat Beretta shot guns. I've got a matching set AL1 20ga. and AL2 12ga. that are both older than me and an A-300 for duck hunting.

First 125 through the gun today.

Beretta specifically tells you to run at least 50 heavy loads before trying the light target stuff for reliability.

I just cleaned, lubed and ran. 7 1/2, 1 oz target loads. Ate them all, fed reliably, locked back on empty every time.

Kick off system is nice, I could feel it a bit last week after 150+ rounds through the OU, but I don't feel like I shot at all today.
