For those with experience, please offer any recommendations for all-inclusive fishing lodges in Alaska. Thanks.

I know you said Alaska but I couldn't help adding a tugboat based fishing trip in the inner passage in British Columbia. It's a floating fishing lodge that pulls fishing boats. Fish twice a day for a week and eat like royalty. Add on halibut and crabbing if you like. Take 8 Kings and Cohos home or send them to the processor. Amazing.

Thanks all for the replies so far. I am planning to take my dad for his 80th birthday, and my 23 YO son will also be going. Dad nor son have ever been to AK. We are probably looking at August (first week) and hope to mix up the fishing; river For salmon one day, ocean for halibut another day, and something else a third day. None of us have ever been fishing in AK and I'd like to get as rounded an experience as possible.

I nearly did this last year and had quotes form Kenai River Drifters Lodge. Anyone familiar with them?

Lots of good fishing around Ketchikan. Only place I have ever fished in Alaska. The fishing is always good there

Never been lucky enough to go myself, but this sounds like exactly what you are looking for. Interesting place.

I stayed/fished with cascade creek in sitka and had an awesome time. Trolled for kings and silvers and went out for halibut. Limits of silvers and halibut, a few kings. Tyler knows his stuff, and his dad (owns the lodge) is a big fly fisherman, so he may be able to satisfy the river fishing requirement https://www.fishsitka.com/

We spent four nights at the Cedar Lodge in Ketchikan. First day was off shore salmon fishing. Next day was halibut bottom fishing. Third day was float plane trip to river/lake for fly fishing for trout. Fourth day was salmon and halibut fishing. Lodge is located on the water and boats pick you up right outside your window. Sent back home several boxes of fish.

The Cedars Lodge was a nice mom and pop lodge with good home cooked food. Not a top class type resort but more of a fishing lodge.

Ketchikan has some fun bars to visit and has some streams that salmon can be seen traveling upstream.

Lots of cruise ships stop during the day.

Easy flight to Ketchikan.

Would go back and do this again in a heartbeat!

Hope this helps...

I used Tower Rock lodge out of Kenai and was very pleased. They offer the variety your looking for. They fly outs were our favorite.

Alaska Resident here (SE AK). I'll echo what a post above said about Cascade Creek in Sitka. I had family visit me and I met them in Sitka for 2 days of ocean fishing. We ended up with 6 - 50lb fish boxes and 1 - 25lb box. This was last summer. Being an Alaska resident I always have fish in my freezer but it's safe to say that my family is sick of fish (humble brag).

I've also been on a work trip to Prince of Whales (POW) Island and had a day off while we waited for another appointment so we last minute schedule a fishing trip with the Fireweed Lodge. We were already staying there for our work as there isn't much lodging on POW. Again, we loaded up on Kings and Halibut. POW is a great island with lots of roads and trails to take a car and just explore when not fishing. Another benefit to POW is that you have to either get there by small plane, float plane, or the inter-island ferry. I do all of the above semi-regularly but I still love it.

I'm not sure if they're operational at the moment as we are slow to open things up due to COVID. Give them a call and feel them out. Note the local health mandates as well. As of now you have 3 options; 1) get a test within 3 days of your travel showing you are negative, 2) get a test when you land at your destination at the airport and quarantine until results show you are negative, or 3) perform a 14 day quarantine at your final destination.

PS, This fishing lodges let you "mooch" for salmon. You're not just trolling and watching your rods (which I hate if the fishing is slow). Mooching is similar but you have lighter tackle and everyone has a rod in their hand as they "reel through" the fishing zone and set their hook. Also, I don't think the places above do freshwater fishing, but I'm sure you can ask them for recommendations.

When we fished with Cascade Creek almost all of our salmon fishing was trolling, we only stopped to mooch once when a downrigger started acting up. When we were trolling we pretty much stayed hooked up as we cruised past a lot of people who weren't. Glad we learned how to mooch but I prefer/preferred trolling. I guess when you hook a fish mooching they tend to swim straight for the surface? We'd see a boat with a fish jumping right next to it and our captain would be like "see that's why I hate mooching, that dude has that fish hooked and he doesn't even know it!" we cracked up until it happened to us, it was really hard to get the feel for it!
