Anyone have any good recommendations for IR / night vision optics to go on an AR? In a perfect world I'd get an IZLID but unfortunately I am a man of modest means and need to compromise. I was looking at this https://www.atncorp.com/x-sight4k-pro-day-night-rifle-scope-5-20x but I am wary of how it appears to be geared towards internet connectivity etc. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Sightmark Photon RT is pretty good. Had ATN, no longer have ATN.

This is about 65 yards or so.

I bought an ATN X-Sight II HD 3-4 years ago before thinking this would be all I needed for night hunting (and it probably was). It works pretty well but I decided to drop the cash on a REAP-IR shortly thereafter and cry once.

That is a good sight but with most cheaper digital night vision you will need the external light and will probably have to limit yourself to 150-200y at night. This isn't a huge deal since shooting much further than that gets tricky at night with the unknown distances.

I haven't used it in the last few years since I upgraded and would be willing to let it go for $350 if your interested.

Eyeguy, do you mean this? I've been looking at these but appreciate your advice on the best model.

Sightmark Wraith is the updated version of the photon. IR for night is great and day time is better because it's full color HD. Cost is $500

That's one of them. There are three models, that's the cheapest. Op is not being truthful on timeline on those. They are made in Wuhan.

That's a favorite business tactic of OP. They arent bad to deal with on in stock items but will lie through their teeth about delivery times on back orders...

So when the dam breaks they become unobtainium?
NO AMNESTY!

in order for democrats, liberals, progressives et al to continue their illogical belief systems they have to pretend not to know a lot of things; by pretending "not to know" there is no guilt, no actual connection to conscience. Denial of truth allows easier trespass.

I have the ATN X Sight II 5-20 and my dad has the 4K 5-20. We love using them and it makes us able to hunt at night when it's balls hot outside. They work best from elevated position above the brush line so they don't wash out, but we hunt from tripods mostly anyway. The others are great and I'm sure Eyeguys is the best, but the ATN is not bad at all. We like having the videos too.

I've got a couple thermal sights for sale. But they're a bit more than a grand.

L-3 Cratos with IR laser

and an EOTECH LWTS-LR

both brand new in box.

Lemme know if interested.

I have a very lightly used Sight Mark Photon 4.6X42S Digital Night Vision Riflescope. I sighted it in on my rifle, however, never hunted with it like I planned to. I have the original box and users manual. Great way to get your toes wet with night vision. $300 in Gonzales County. Amazon Link

If you do Facebook there is a group called ATN Smart HD Owners.

They post a lot of videos that will let you know the video quality of the various units.

If considering ATN they do have a hit and miss reputation on quality. That is very evident by the posts on that group. Also keep in mind they most vocal people are going to be people who have problems with the unit.

I myself have not had problems with my unit 5-20 4K. I also don't use it very often, and generally don't abuse my stuff (ie not a good person to talk about robustness). And the quality of the image is directly dependent upon the quality of the IR light you use. Most folks upgrade the included light.

For me, also not wanting to spend a fortune on a toy I use 3-4 times a year, found digital NV ( and ATN) to be a decent compromise.

I have one of these. Love it. Very simple.

I also have an ATN Pro that's seen the field maybe once, but then found myself liking the aforementioned Sightmark more and more. The ATN Pro has a great picture, lots of positives, but I've found myself drawn more and more to simplicity. I'd sell the ATN Pro to anyone interested.

I have an ATN 4K X-Sight 5-20 I got from Texian. My compelling reason to get is still my favorite feature. I love being able to WiFi to my phone or iPad so I can see exactly what my boys are seeing through the scope. With this, we are 5 for 5 on dead animals because I can make sure they are getting a good shot placement. Plus it's fun to record and watch later.

So far mine has been flawless. Thermals are exceptional, but for a day/night scope I'm very happy with my X-Sight.

Pard NV008s are back in stock! AND I also have Flir Scout XTs again, didn't think we'd ever see those again!

That's what I have, works well enough for the ~$350 price tag. Can see out to 125-150 with the built in IR, one day I'll get an add on torch that will extend the range but I don't use it enough to justify doing so right now.

Anyone tried a Sionyx product? I like the idea of a removable device I can pair with with existing optic.
