Heading down to Galveston West Bay area. Plan to fish early Sunday morning and possibly Saturday evening or at night. Haven't done this in several years. 3 of us with kayaks. Any recommendations on where to go? Staying at a lodge near Harborwalk Marina, across the water from Tiki Island.

We have the typical bayfishing gear. Thinking of running 2 rods. 1 with shrimp & fish bites under a cork and another casting artificials. We honestly don't know where would even be a good area to paddle to and try and catch some trout or reds this time of year. Mecom's Reefs? North Deer Island? Jones Bay? I have an old fishing map of the area.

TIA

Use the cut from Harborwalk to get into Greens lake. Good fishing in there. Careful in the cut, not very wide and some boats do use it.

If the wind is right the surf has been on right now near San Luis Pass

The canals in harbor walk can be good. The diversionary canal should hold reds and flounder.

Surf looked fish-able this morning, according to family. May try it out tomorrow.
