How long do you want to ignore this user?
Have an AAC 7.62 SDN-6

Bought a Sig rattler .300

Placed AAC 51T ratchet muzzle adapter on Rattler

Can won't ratchet all the way down...Rattler handguard is too narrow

Am I stuck with having to buy a new can?

If I understand your problem, you are not alone... I ended up cutting an inch off my noveske hand guard to accommodate my surefire suppressor break. A little sanding and some black paint had things looking like it was straight from the factory.

Can you take the muzzle brake off and direct thread

Pics?

Would some drimel work on the hand guard clear it?

I'm sure you could get someone to make you a 5/8 to 5/8 thread adapter that would just work as an extension. Rockset it on. Not ideal but a lot of people are running trouble free thread adapters with cans.

AAC makes that 51T mount with two different bases. One with a flat base and one where a flange hangs down over the barrel. Might try to find out if one sits higher.

edit: I just looked at some of my mounts and it looks like the brake sits slightly higher than the 3 prong.

Will chew on the advice

Basically, this requires this:

Suppressor too fat to fit in the handguard, once the muzzle device is switched

Suppressor break fits inside the handguard fine

Suppressor won't ratchet all the way down (barely grabs at all) because it's too wide to fit inside the handguard

May have to cut the handguard down

That was my problem. The break fit without issue but the suppressor couldn't fit under the low profile hand guard I had.

You may have to look at a thread extender? Might look goofy but you won't have to cut your rail...

edit: they make a 1/2-28 TPI one as well on this site

Be careful with this and make sure the bore is concentric so you dont get baffle strikes.

This. I would cut the handguard before using a barrel extension.

That product looks legit but it's easy and free to cut the handguard.

I agree and I think that should be a concern anytime you are hanging something else off the end of your muzzle. Just throwing other options out if the OP didn't want to cut on his rail. I would definitely check the alignment even on the AAC brake/suppressor as well.

No problems here with the sico set up
