Anybody have a seed drill they'd be willing to rent for a few days? Family would like to drill some cover crops and potentially native grass seed mix into existing pasture a few miles east of Columbus.

Folks willing to buy one if looking to sell, unsure of the preferred make/model/size parameters though.

Obviously not in the area, but I'd scan Facebook marketplace and Craigslist. Might find one cheap. Use "drill" for one search and "planter" for another search because people sometimes use the wrong name

Call your local extension agent. They may have contact info for folks to rent from. When I was planting for dove hunts, I rented from the soul conservation org locally.

I second this.

There was a thread discussing drills a while back that covered the topic in detail if you really are considering a purchase. I have been satisfied with my Great Plains drill.

Grew up in the area and I've tried finding a drill to rent for 5 years now-no luck so I started using an old corn planter to plant my food plots. Pretty sure the Dippel family in LaGrange have drills and will plant seeds you have on contract basis. They did have ads in the Fayette county record a few years ago.

Forgot to add the last time I rented it the rate was $250 a day for up to 15 acres. More than 15 acres the rate jumps to $15 dollars an acre additional. They also rent broadcast spreaders and other equipment.

Didn't know about virnau rental-might look into that for next years planting.
