He had hid a million dollars in the Rocky Mountain and gave some clues to where it was, in order to get people out into nature. He hasn't been the most reliable guy so he really knows. But if someone did find it, congrats to them.

Why do you say he hasn't been the most reliable?

My son and I love the Expedition Unknown show and they had one about Fenn's fortune. The host Josh Gates ended up being skeptical it even existed. If it has been found I hope they do a follow up episode.

I hope they eventually share the location. I always liked the Sphinx Mountain solve.

A lot of people speculated that the treasure was made up just to sell his memoir book, that used to be the only way to get the poem which had the clues.

I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and assume somebody did find it, I dont mind them remaining anonymous as that's probably what I'd do if I had found a treasure worth a couple mil, but post some pics of the treasure for the public to see and tell us where it was at and how you figured it out.

Reliable may be the wrong word, but he was raided by the feds at one point for violations of the antiquities act, his friends say he embellishes his stories, he never took a picture with the loot before he buried it, and there isn't any actual evidence that it exists at all. And now that it was found, it was conveniently done by someone who stays anonymous, so there's still no proof it's real. As for his character though, several people have died searching for it, this was one family member's interaction with him.

Fenn does state on his site that more info and photos to come. Hopefully so. I imagine the truth will come out one way or another though since several people have filed lawsuits against him (some are absolutely ridiculous fwiw).
I do hope Fenn posts a pic of the treasure that was found. For all we know this thing could have been a complete hoax.

I hope Fenn = hardest working man in treasure.

Figured I'd bump this. Fenn did update his website over the last couple of months and shows pictures with the chest that the guy brought back to him (just to see, not give back). Looks legitimate.

Finder still wants to stay anonymous which I understand, but also didn't want to disclose where exactly the treasure was at or how he solved the poem which is a bit disappointing. He and Fenn agreed to let the public know that it was in Wyoming, not New Mexico or Colorado like most people had guessed.

Is the IRS going to let the finder stay anonymous?

Maybe the finder is legit and is planning a book or a documentary. I'd love to know the full story.

And now Fenn has died, so we might never know the full story on it all.

Interesting that he died literally weeks after the treasure was found. Glad it was found, and RIP FF.

Didn't want to start a new thread, but some dude was arrested for tearing up Yellowstone looking for it. Guess this happened before it was found.

The guy came forward.
Assuming his story is legit, then I guess the treasure was too. Gotta say I am a bit surprised. But happily I guess.
