Looking to get a new deer hunting knife and just curious as to others opinions.

Drop. Less chance of snagging a gut when you open it up.

I may be in the minority, but I like an aggressive clip point, but that is also what I am used to using.

My grandad made this one for me when I was 10 or so, and I've carried it on my hip every time I go into the woods since then (recently had to make a new sheath, as you may be able to tell, when the sheath failed on me in the middle of a 10 day elk hunt).

As previously said though, you do have to use some caution when starting a belly cut while skinning. Made that mistake once when I was young, and never since.
