So my son, who is eight, has discovered all of the coolness and glory of .410 shotguns. His specifically is an old, pristine, bolt action Mossberg.
Anyway he loves the thing, and comes up with all of these great ideas on what to shoot with it. Last weekend it was a 2 liter of DP and a sleeve of Mentos candies. He dropped the candies in, closed the top set it down, and blew it the **** away. I mean that thing exploded like someone dropped a hand grenade in it. It was totally awesome. Apparently his teacher did it during some science experiment before we all got locked down(minus the .410)
On a side note, this gun is a perfect example of they don't make them like they used to. The stock on it is a beautiful piece of patterned wood that would be an upgraded upgrade today. It has a glossy blue finish and the action feels like a Winchester rifle, not a bolt action shotgun. Crazy how nice it is. I bought it during the black rifle craze following the Sandy Hook tragedy for $100. I had one just like it growing up but it was stolen years ago.
