I've got this 4.6L V-8 Ford-E-150 that I've towed a 2500 lb pop-up for years with - no problems. I'm getting a larger trailer now. The towing capacity is listed at 6600 lbs. I was thinking of capping the trailer at around 5K dry weight, plus whatever bikes/linens/food we load in there.

Anybody have insight about what the realistic towing capacity is? Would I be okay if I pushed the dry weight to around 5300?

Thanks - I've never had a real RV. Probably will get a Nissan Armada or similar in the next few years.
