These red, spider/ant looking insects are in my Chinese Tallow and I'm now wondering if that's why the tree has had largish limbs deteriorate on me? I need to either get the tree healthy or cut it down. I could use your help on this. I just climbed in the tree to hang a bird feeder and saw these insects. There are parts of the tree that are deteriorating/hollowed.

I know. But I'm not going to live to 150 so I have to choose my battles wisely

So get a different fast growing tree that isn't considered an invasive piece of crap.

Depending on how big it is, I doubt that leaf footed bugs are doing what you think they're doing, and that something else is going on. If you want to kill them just spray the tree with bifen.
