Anyone have any thoughts on the under the bed gun safes, or locking gun storage lockers?

My primary goal is to keep the kids out of it...ages 12 and 8.

Drawbacks to these devices, other than the obvious that its not a true safe?

Hiding the action of your gun under the bed is not as safe as hiding it under the sheets.

Storage locker. Kids ain't getting into it

It locks and unlocks with a key, not a combination. I keep the keys in the handgun safe by my bed, which is a simplex combination lock Fort Knox pistol vault. If you bolt it to the wall as recommended, it will deter pretty much anybody other than a determined thief with a lot of time, and your kids definitely won't get into it. Even if you don't bolt it to the wall, your kids aren't getting into it unless they're legit trying to steal your **** and are real go-getters. I think mine was like 120 bucks.
