How long will you be out?

Do you need it, or would a larger power bank be a better option so you're not reliant on sun?

This. I have two sizes of power banks. And a solar panel. The smallest power bank was more than enough for my iPhone on my most recent hike. (I was going lighter). Three day hike withy phone running all trails gps and mapping software the entire time. Taking pics. Was In the tent from 1 pm on in the rain playing 42 in it. The bank had a half charge left.

Turn the phone power save mode and it runs a long time....I didn't even know that trick at the time!

Well if you don't mind the redundancy causing extra weight then go for it. I'd not bother with the shorter hikes though. I'd trickle charge the battery pack during the day and top-off the phone when needed.

I have a plain solar charger, the two battery packs, and a solar panel with a built in batter pack. The last I got for my son for a science experiment.

So far I've only backpacked with the plain charger and the small battery pack. Personally I found charging the phone tedious off the solar panel strapped to my pack while hiking. I couldn't use the phone easily while charging.

So like I said the battery was better and surprisingly more powerful than rated. For 7 days a small battery pack and a solar panel might be ideal. Especially if you have a couple of devices.

I have a Gosl Zero two panel. It worked flawlessly on my 12 day backpacker. I hung on top of my pack to charge the battery pack during the day. I charged my devices at night. Weighs 19 ozs.

My Goal Zero works as described. Perfect for keeping phones charged. I carry the power bank too, so I can keep multiple devices charging at once. 3-4 hours in good sun to fully charge iPhone.

Just got this a week ago but haven't had time to evaluate. High rated on Amazon.

I've seen more folks have good luck with the style that FatSexy linked. I think simply more surface area of solar charging capacity.
I have something small similar to what Caesar4 linked that has a built in powerbank. I charge it completely before I leave and that's the bulk of the charge I get out of it. It really doesn't recharge from solar and that's with it hanging on my pack pretty much the whole time. Using basically that initial pre-trail charge, I've still been able to maintain charge on my phone for 10 days using my phone more as a camera and maybe a couple of calls if I'm at a high elevation and can get signal. A couple of buddies have the same type of small unit like I do with similar results. Charge it before you leave.

I used the one 'Well Okay Then' posted for a 7 day remote village stay. It charged my fan batteries/ flashlight batteries/ and power bank during the day with ease and folded up easily. I absolutely would recommend that one.

I have a similar set up but I have stopped carrying it for anything less than 7 days, which is 99% of my trips. I also use my phone a lot less than some and just confirm locations with the gps and do the majority of my navigation from a paper map. I do use it for taking photo's and playing an occasional podcast but not playing games or video.

Screen time is what eats your battery. If you limit that and leave your phone in power saver mode with the cell antenna turned off I can get 7 days out of a single charge on my Galaxy S10. I also power my phone complete off at night and when it's going to be near or below freezing keep it in my sleeping bag with me. The cold will sap a battery fast, especially if the phone is running.

I do carry an Anker 10K battery as a backup but use it mostly for my headlamp and Steripen water purification.

I use a triplex from Zpacks. Three person ultralight tent. Roomy for 2 which is what that trip was. Three was ok but no extra room.

I don't have any good recs for a 4 person one. At that size it is hard to find sites. Just too big. And that's a lot of shifting and turning over at night. I'd rather do two tents.
