Vaultek looks nice, I like the fingerprint reader option
Seems like the smaller ones I can just get one and move it from my vehicle to nightstand

Any recommendations are appreciated. Are the fingerprint readers reliable? Should I buy 2 so I can bolt the nightstand one into the drawer?

Thanks guys!

I bought one of these SpeedVault Handgun Safe and bolted it to the nightstand.

Nothing fancy but it's reasonably priced and it's opened every time I've needed to get into it.

I picked up the a Vaultek that requires a code. No complaints, easy to use. Seems like it would be good for the truck but I don't keep it there.

I really like the vaultek one, but the one that reads the fingerprint is really expensive .

I fully support storing a gun in your car, but only after you post your address on here.

It'll be a scavenger hunt for TexAgs.

I'm a big fan of simplex locks.

A great portable one that you can move from under the bed (loop the cable around the bed support, not theft proof but good enough if the rest of your security is adequate) is the Titan pistol vault. Has an integrated holster and you can also mount it to a bed frame or side table. Can also mount in the car, but if you want it movable between home and vehicle you can cable it to the seat frame.

Fort Knox also makes a few for a more stationary installation.

Whatever you end up with, I'd highly recommend a Simplex lock. Damn near foolproof and you don't need batteries. Can set you own combination of presses, even multiple keys simultaneously.

I refuse to rely on biometrics or keys.

Speedvault. Get the model with a keypad. Skip the biometrics.

How does Lockerdown compare to ConsoleVault?

The Vaultek came in the mail today

I'm super impressed with it. Self opening, light on inside, rechargeable battery, heavy duty. Will let you know if someone has tried to guess the code or pick the lock
Heavy as heck so solidly built
