No help on a mechanic, but I do have a piece of advice for you.

Once you get fixed up, drive up to Zabcikville and hit up Green's Sausage House. Their sausage and cheese kolaches are the best you will ever have in your life. Lots of other great stuff in their as well. Lots of in-house made sausages and stuff.

Many years ago on 4th of July I was headed from Fort Hood to A&M to see my GF (now my wife). I got pulled over for speeding in Rogers and ended up taking & passing a field sobriety test. I was wearing a "Rehab is for Quitters" T-shirt. I wonder how long they keep dash cam videos?

Wendell towed me back, showed me a pic of his favorite (and dead) Corriente cow, talked about the now defunct Independence gun store, etc, etc.

Cliff showed me his hall of horns in the shop, including a damn nice 14 pt he shot this season on the outskirts of town.

Part is en route and truck is on the lift. Carne Asada At El Charro is 9/10.

Now I'm stuck, on top of a hill in BFE. 4WD went out on this work truck yesterday and these mudgrips are past their prime and completely useless. This anti slip bull is also no help.

I could get outta this in pretty much any other vehicle than what I'm in now. FTR, this is not my regular work truck. I keep my sht right. At least I'm gettin paid for this. FMITGA.

Put this on a short list of unlikely outcomes of a breakdown: Was travelling cross country down I-55 in the 90's in my Olds, very rural panhandle Missouri. Engine overheat light pops on the dash and I'm losing coolant. I cut across the median of an exit ramp to barely make the exit and coast to a stop at the only business on that 4-corners, a full service Texaco. Not a customer in sight, and 3 overall-clad employees sitting on buckets at the threshold of the bay smoking. They jump up, push me in the bay, and 40 minutes later I'm driving off with a new rebuilt water pump. I think the bill was something like $60.

That's too crazy to be made up.
