How long do you want to ignore this user?
I'm looking for ideas of places to stay in a RV for a few days in the Kerrville, TX area. After we drop our daughter off at Lyons camp Sunday(July), we are looking for something to do until Wednesday. Only thing I can come up with is going to Fredericksburg. We have road tripped in that area before, just looking for some other ideas. THANKS! I know the OB knows stuff.

This is a good spot... It is just a few miles from the Kerrville airport. Quieter than the large park on I-10

Guadalupe River State Park is 56 minutes from Kerville. It has pretty decent campsites, some with full hookups, some with water/elect. only. You would go through Boerne to get from the park to Kerville. Boerne is a nice little town with a good assortment of shops and restaurants to keep you occupied.

There is a commercial RV park near the Fredericksburg airport that you can look into. Nothing to do at the park itself like you would have at a state park, but it would be a convenient place to stay. We would much prefer a state park over an RV park.

Buckhorn RV Park on I-10.

Thanks! I'm looking into some of those suggestions. It doesn't have to be in Kerrville, Within an hour or 2 is close enough. We are going to Concan that Wednesday and staying on the river so was hoping to find something not water related.

Jellystone RV Park, if you have kids, is a favorite of some folks.

Johnson Creek RV Park out towards Mountain Home is quiet.

Guadalupe River State Park in the summer is a zoo...not my cup of tea.

Buckhorn RV as mentioned previously is very popular and right off of I-10.

The Sonora Caverns might be within your 2 hour time frame, maybe a little bit more. They are about an hour west of Junction.

You could stay at Kerrville Schreiner park. https://www.kerrvilletx.gov/318/Kerrville-Schreiner-Park

Drive to Alamo Springs Cafe, eat a burger, then go to the nearby Old Tunnel bat cave and watch 3 million free-tail bats fly out until dark.

Second on the Caverns of Sonora.

Fredericksburg and the 290 wine trail is fun, but I wouldn't spend three days there. A day to a day and a half is enough.

South Llano River State Park in Junction is pretty special.
