I've seen it recommended multiple times but it's still a foreign language to me. I want to start following it this year.

Anyone have an plain English version?

Yes. And if I could post pictures I'd do it.

There is a details page that explains the products he is recommending.

Ace Hardware carries them all.

My only objection with Randy is waiting till Feb or March for pre-emergents. I already have clover and other type weeds popping up. I treated in December last year with good effect. Didn't treat this year because I'm selling the house and got too busy.
The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But, it's still on the list.

Clovers are killing me right now. Any harm in treating early?

I don't think pre-emergents work after blooming. I would spot treat the clover and then use a pre-emergent on the entire lawn. But I'm no expert.

I don't know how any of this crap works. So you're more of any expert than I am.

You can buy plenty of products that do the same as what he recommends (and cheaper). If your near the Katy area, go up to Site One landscaping for better products and pricing. I'm pretty sure he gets some revenue for all the stuff he pushes (Which are some pretty expensive stuff from places like Ace Hardware instead of your normal box stores like Lowes)

They will stop future blooms from seeding all spring, do it now if you haven't yet. Hit your yard up with a broadleaf killer at the same time to kill whatever has grown so far.

Don't feel obligated to use the products he recommends. I remember reading somewhere that he has a personal stake in NitroPhos.

You can use pre emergent herbicides whenever you want. You just accept slightly less activity or longevity of the product.

So run it now and then run it again when it warms up and you see it breaking.

Treat the symptoms, not the schedule.

Eh, the stuff from Lowe's may work, but I've never seen them carry similar rate fertilizer and most of their other items appear to be mixed bags, rather than singularly specific applicants.

I'm sure he does have a stake in these products and I am fine with that.

I moved into a new house in 2016 and have been following his schedule religiously and I have by far the best looking lawn on the street.

I'm a new homeowner and have been trying to get in the rhythm on when to do certain maintenance tasks. I will definitely be making a sheet like this. Thanks for the idea!

Barricade and superturf are easiset to find, at either HGC or Ace. I have learned to apply 3 weeks before Randys calendar or i will miss some early sprout ups.

I can tell you the easiest way....watch me do it while you drink a beer.

Barricade WSG is much cheaper to spray vs. granules. $50 of the generic will last for years, instead one treatment.
The story isn't that [DeSantis] "couldn't win" the primary. The story is that an overwhelming majority of our population is heinously stupid. 50% of them vote for communists. 75% of the remaining 50% vote for Trump, who cant win. When the majority of the opposition party insists on voting for an opposition candidate who can't win, you get exactly the government you deserve. - Well Endowed Ag

You can get Barricade off of Amazon - that's what I use for my yard (when I remember to use it). Works great for keeping most of the weeds from popping up.

Might be a dumb question but oh well. I moved into a new build 2 weeks ago. With new sod, would I still follow this plan starting in February?

He doesn't "wait" until February. You should have put it down in Oct/Nov.

Pretty sure Randy's rec for new sod is to water like crazy and fall into the schedule naturally. No need to go back to Oct/Nov applications to jump start the process. Just start with the late January applications.

I wouldn't. The preemergents suggested in his program are root pruners. I would focus on fertility and disease until the lawn starts growing aggressively.

Does anyone know of a preemergent that works on Virginia Buttonweed? this stuff wipes out my st Augustine every summer. it's a broadleaf, but the RLemmon recommendations haven't seemed to work for me.

i was told barricade now at a higher rate, then follow up again in 2 months or whatever

it has wiped me out twice also but according to the guy I talked to at plants for all seasons most likely I wasnt applying at a high enough rate

Any one used this in comparison to the Ferti-Lome Green Maker?
