What's a good go to brand to knock out some brush and vines? I have about a 40 x 40 area and then some fence lines to spray.

I had a solution of Sendero/Remedy mixed up for foliar spray treatment of mesquite. Sprayed that on boundary fences with vines, brush, grass, and weeds were thick. Killed it all. 2% Sendero, 2% Remedy, 1% methylated seed oil mixed in water.

You could just go to local feed store or hardware store and purchase 8% triclopyr (active ingredient in Remedy) and spray that on leaves of vines and brush. Note: will require waiting till spring when vines and brush had put leaves out.

If you want to treat now, you would cut the vines and brush and treat the stumps with Remedy/diesel, making sure to apply treatment the same day you cut.

I use RM43/Remedy mix and it does fine for me. I think the ratio was 1.25 gallon RM43 and 1 qt of Remedy for a 45 gallon mix.

I spray the fence lines twice a year and have no real issues anymore. Other brusy etc that I hit usually dies with one dose.

I am sure there is other stuff out there, but this works for me.

Remedy is what I couldn't think of.

Appreciate. I'll give it a try in the Spring

I don't know your schedule, or your preferences, but you can basally spray Remedy (61% triclopyr) and diesel any time of the year, provided the trunks/stems aren't wet or don't contain ice/frost.

I've knocked out quite a few trees/brush/vines that way during the winter. I've had some areas where it's easier to get around when the foliage is gone and I'm not constantly on the lookout for less-than-friendly snakes.

I have goats and concur with two previous posters. Goats are very effective as part of one's efforts in vine and brush control.

But we had 4 strand barbed wire fence along a county road and a railroad right of way that had established vine and brush growing on it. Goats were eating on those vines and brush wonderfully, but also pushing through the fence to vegetation outside the fencel. I had to put up electric fencing on those 2 perimeter fences to keep the goats in, then had to treat the vines and brush chemically to keep electric fence from shorting out as the vines and brush grew back.

Land management is fun and interesting.
