Who did you use? Need to get my wife's car from Belton to NW Montana in early January.

Auto board might be helpful here. It gets covered occasionally.

I've got a couple I've used lately - try Victor at Midnight Movers +1 (773) 683-4003

He's based in the Chicago area and did a good job it was an enclosed transport and about $800 or so if you book direct. I found him on Uship but you can skip that upcharge

I also have a good broker her name is Danielle with Diesel Dispatch 360.539.8689

Just make sure you set up a true pick up date and time. My girlfriend was trying to ship her car from California to San Antonio and as the pick up date approached they kept pushing her back or increased the quote due to high volume of requests. It can be a dirty business

Midnight Movers is a truck owner? I think I want to avoid dealing with brokers.

Yes - he owns his truck not a broker (or a thief to my knowledge)

I think his son in law was moving down here to start one up in TX

Wrong emoticon / lol

I can highly recommend Don Schaefer out of Houston Texas. He hauled a 1970 GTO Judge for me and also a M1044 restored HMMWV for me cross country. Totally enclosed trailer that is really first class.

Your car will only be with one other car and it will not be offloaded or change trailers during the trip. No broker fees as he owns it himself. Most professional hauler I have ever used.

I'm getting quotes from a few others, so I'll give him a call.

I'd do a drive and fly if the money was right. Drive it up there and fly back from Spokane to Austin. Flight is $139 right now for the week of Jan 13.

Due to timing, it's just not going to work. I'm driving my truck with 2 dogs, wife is flying with infant daughter. We have to get 2 vehicles up there. I considered that originally, but in the middle of trying to deal with our Austin house and the 2 houses I inherited in the last few months, just not feasible.

How much you offerin? Flight/food/room/profit sounds about like $600 or so with gas on your dime.

At $600+fuel it's probably going to be close enough to a wash that the 2k miles on a brand new car are not worth it.

Not to mention some TexAger hooning the new Subaru all the way across the US.

I had problems with the big car haulers trying to get my son's Jeep to PA. First, they kept moving the pickup date. Second, they showed up to my neighbors house across the street who was not home and decided to give me a call an hour after they left to reschedule delivery (said Jeep was parked in the driveway in front of my house). Third, they called on the rescheduled trip when we were in the air headed to PSU to say they couldn't find the key after I gave them instructions over the phone and left a note on the windshield and drivers door saying the keys were at the neighbors. Finally ended up shipping the Jeep with Jade Lawrence (830) 456-2745 out of Fredericksburg and he was top notch.

He's got a client lined up for my date range already, but he said you were good people.
