I have two pair of cabelas brand and have been very pleased with them, usually wait for a sale and get them for under $120.

Banded waders are the next step up - both in price and quality. I really enjoyed mine, they lasted a few seasons, it's like hunting in your pjs.

Drake waders are good too - they have a two year head to toe warranty

Now, I have a pair of Simms camo waders and couldn't be happier. Won't be turning back. They were the same price as the Sitka but have a way better warranty and track record

Yesterday I bought the Cabelas SuperMag 1600. I'm taking them out Thursday and Friday. I'll report back.

I have a pair of the Cabelas 5mm neoprene as they are one of the few that are long enough for me. The only downside is if you are an active hunter and do a lot of walking they will get hot quick.

Next pair I buy will be Sitka or Simms.

Simms with the zipper. They recently changed their lineup so the waders are not $900, but the old style was ~$500.

Guys I hunted with yesterday go out about 5 days a week during season & they all had these on FWIW:

I'm two seasons into these, paired with softscience wading boots. Love them. I can run across our duck ponds they are so light and mobile. Layer up underneath with some simms coldgear pants for the chilly days and they are plenty warm.

Patch well too, which is good because our blinds are made of hog panel and rip the **** out of waders eventually.

Edit: Come to think of it, these waders actually saved me a nice greenwing drake cripple that an eagle was honing in on. Sprinted through the pond threatening to shoot the damn bird (dog was working a different bird at the time)

What boot size are you? I have a pair that Have been worn 3-4 times. Also have a wader jacket, neoprene vest with shell holder.

I'm about to pull the trigger on some simms. I've had several set of banded waders and they've never lasted me more than 3 season before leaking. They're great and super comfortable, but I'm going to try Simms due to their warranty.

Best damn waders I've owned. Waterproof zipper in front for easy-in easy-out. Padded knees. Lifetime repair or replacement.

That said, expensive as F though...

OP - with a user name like that you need an upgrade from Academy waders! Most folks are moving away from neoprene to breathable waders these days. I was reluctant to do so because the original models leaked a lot. But I think they have for the most part solved that. First time you go with breathables it's a total game charger. So much flexibility and mobility.

I've got a pair of Banded insulated breathable waders I really like for cold weather hunting.

Frogg Toggs is having a sale on their breathables right now. If I was looking I'd give a pair of these a try.

And I've tried a lot of waders over the years.

I keep debating on getting a pair and probably will after my academy ones crap out. Only thing I am having trouble with is finding somewhere to try them on in Houston Area. I don't trust the sizing chart based off the fit of some of their other gear

I'm a 10.5 regular. The size 11 regular fits great. Not sure if that helps... If you hunt in the Eagle Lake area, Johnnys might have them. Call ahead though.

Well, I just checked mine. Lacrosse size 11. I think I've worn them twice. Once in Arkansas and again down here. Fairly thick. I can't remember the mil?
