Frying turkey in the rain

I think I already know the answer to this, but I wanted to see if the OB has any recommendations.

I've safely fried turkeys for years and years with great results, but I've never had any rain to deal with. This year it looks like a rainy Thursday is inevitable up in DFW, and I'm just curious if anyone had ever tried frying a turkey under a pop-up canopy and how that went.

Assuming we're not dealing with wind and/or driving rain I was hoping a canopy would work, but I'm worried about the heat from the fryer hitting the underside of the canopy.

Aside from the expected "you should be smoking/roasting your turkey" responses, I'd appreciate any input ...

Use canopy, you'll be fine, we've done it before. Heat dissipates way before it gets to the ceiling.

Roasted turkey is ass, smoked turkey is hard. Protip, cook under a ham.

ETX is honestly starting to scare me a bit as someone who may be trigger happy.

I've done them under canopies before with no issues

I've fried under my covered porch before to avoid wind and rain. Just make sure you have a fire extinguisher handy, just in case.
