I've read every shootout article regarding them. DXF model is comparable with Orvis Recon with lots of good press. I have a 5 wt Recon, looking for a 3 wt, maybe 10-11 feet.

Just curious, why are you looking at Douglas instead of another Recon? Do they come in a wt/length that recons don't?

Curious, as much as anything. Rod action, warranties and prices are about the same. I saw a few at a fly shop in town, they looked really good.

I would urge you towards Scott. It's going to compete hand-to-hand (and I think it'll win) with Douglas and Thompson, but I think they offer a better warranty.

It's all going to depend on which you cast better.

Just make sure you register within 30 days of purchase for Scott. They are my favorite but I've heard recently of Scott declining warranty when outside of that 30 day window.
