Looking at getting a handgun because why not?

PSA has these...is it a fair deal on a decent gun?

Some people want to ignore the "your car is not a holster" concept.

Either this or a hi-point yeet cannon fit that role.

The original Shield is a solid carry gun. Mine is on my hip today. I was happy with it when I bought it for $300. For $200 it's an absolute steal.

I have one. Shot it several times without any problem. About a year ago(maybe 2) they were running $300 with a $50 rebate(or something similar). Is it the best gun available? No and I doubt you'd find anyone who would say it is. Is it serviceable and reliable? Yes and I think you'd find many people that would agree. As always, someone will probably come along and say I had this gun and it never worked correctly. This would be the exception rather than the rule from my experience and what I've read.

Very good deal on a solid gun. I like mine.

They fire every time and are concealable. For $200 you get a reliable pistol that you don't have to worry too much about. I much prefer my Sig P365 but it's twice as much

Glock 19 is the GOAT but I prefer my Gen 1 Shield to my Glock 43.

I'll buy your G43 for $240 so you can buy a Shield+transfer fee.

I have one in .40 but would prefer the 9mm.

I'd buy this without hesitation if I needed a small-framed pistol.

Shield 1.0 is my EDC.

I shot the Shield, G26, G19, G43, M&P9c when testing out EDC weapons. I liked the G26 but wasn't realistically concealable for my purposes. Much preferred the Shield over G43, so that's what I own.

Love the 19 but it's not the best every day carry gun. I really like the 43x

If I didn't just pick up the 43x I would absolutely buy this at this price point.

Those times I can't carry in somewhere and have to leave the 43x inside the truck I always get nervous.

A brand new Shield and a case of insecurity for $199. Count me in!

It's not like they just went to crap after the 2.0s were released. The Shield was always a very well regarded firearm, and most find it more comfortable to hold than the 43. The 43 is lighter though, so it does have that going for it. All in all, for a reliable carry gun, $199 is a great price on them.

Mine has never malfunctioned. It eats everything I feed it and I think it's a great carry gun.

I've got a Shield, 43 and 43X.

Like you, I really like the 43X....it's a really nice mix of reliability, size, capacity, etc.

OP, if you don't have a gun in the "small enough to actually carry all the time, but big enough to fight with if needed" category, the gen 1 shield for $200 is a really good deal.

Academy has them for $289 plus a $50 Academy gift card and then the $50 rebate. So $189 plus tax after everything. They are also including a S&W gift bag with a hat, tumbler, sticker, etc. I picked one up today.

Good deal on good gun. I carry safety model for AIWB since I have to don and doff so often. Were I not muzzling my femoral artery, I'd forgo the safety.

Probably until a ton of inventory is moved so they can announce the Gen 3's at Shot Show

I still carry the original or a 9C everyday.

Yeah I have a 9C also. Fantastic pistols. If they ever have that kind of deal on one I'll buy another.
