Anyone have any recommendations for places to eat in Carrizo Springs? I have to go for a few days for work and know nothing about it.

Rosita is solid.

Andy's always seems to have a crowd but I've never been in.

MJ'shas good reviews, can't remember if I have been inside, though.

Which way are you going there? If you're going through Batesville, stop at Desi's and get migas in the morning and beef quesadillas for supper. And when you speak of me, speak well.

Head South to Boystown and enjoy the errr..frog legs.

Thank you, I appreciate the recommendations. No idea how we're going, I am not driving and therefore not concerned as long as we get there in one piece. I will make sure we eat well, however.

As a born and raised Carrizoan, I would go with Rositas, DQ, or Miguelitos in Crystal.

Solid choices

I'm from south Texas and have been to Carrizo many times but not in at least 30 years so I thought I would give it a yelp search for fun. Unsurprisingly there look to be some solid Mexican food choices. My favorite was the DQ review below. They have a 1 star average with this gem thrown in. You may want to skip the blizzard.

Stopped in to get a blizzard. It was a good Heath bar blizzard.

Restrooms out of order.

Now I understand this is Carrizo Springs and cleanliness is not a high priority in this one horse oilfield deer camp town, but where do the hired help do their business or wash up.

The next question is how are they able to clean their restaurant without water or a drain working.
Workers were nice and all but I hope they can tie a knot in it for a long shift.

I am by no means big on government regulations but a county or city Health inspector would have a field Day in Carrizo Springs.

5D or Andy's are my choices when in Carrizo. Miguelito's is a no go for me, about a third of the time I have ended up with terrible heartburn or getting sick.

Or a period of time. Right after the Mesozoic Age came the Carrizoan Age.

5D or Rositas is the only places we go.

Church's Chicken - there is a Mexican selection on the other side of the restaurant. Best barbacoa taco's you'll find, not joking.

Wrong. The best barbacoa, at least in Carrizo, is at Compeans on 9th street. They only serve it on Sundays though.
