I leave this Wednesday for a 4 day Yosemite hiking trip. I'm looking to bring a little booze in a flask to drink after a long day hiking but honestly I can't decide what I should bring. Honestly I mostly drink beer so you guys know what more about the good stuff than I do.

Put 2 cases of canned brew in you pack.

Or, fill your flask with moonshine.

I'm to cheap for the fancy stuff, but I usually bring a plastic 375ml of Evan Williams. It's good enough for me

Buffalo trace is why you are looking for if you can find it. Smooth and tasty.

Flask with Knob Creek. More bang for your buck. 100 proof and smooth taste with a small stone of ice.

Be careful drinking that at higher altitudes.

Am I the only one wondering why alcohol needs to be included on a trip like this?

I rarely drink, but after a full day of hiking it's nice to sit around the camp stove and sip on a libation.

I'm probably going to get roasted for saying this but I like to take Black Box wine on backpacking trips. They come in something like 16oz boxes. I'm not a wine person but it's pretty good.

I understand, and I'm guessing you're not limited to space and weight.

A little alcohol helps me sleep on the ground. I don't understand why anyone would want to get hammered on a back packing trip but having a drink or two is pretty nice when you're camping.

Oh I'm very limited on space and weight. I'll make a little room for a flask, though.

That'd be the first thing I'd cut if limited on space and weight; but to each their own.

I'd echo the statement, of watch the hard liquor with altitude.

If you don't have a favorite hard liquor I wouldn't carry something up based on other people's recommendations on what to bring (especially an islay scotch!!!). Maybe take some good vodka to mix with gatorade or tang? If you are going to insist on whisky try redbreast irish whiskey or nikka coffey still, both are some of the smoothest brown likkers out there

Those little collapsible 20 oz. Pouch squueze bottles are pretty handy for this. Lighter than flask, and don't take up any room once empty. Coupld bucks at wally world on camping aisle

I'd pick up the edibles too
