These guys make it seem pretty easy, but they don't mention emissions.

Then what was the VW dieselgate thing all about?

That was more about tuning to run one way for federal emissions standards and mileage testing, and another for day to day driving that emitted more emissions and had different fuel consumption.

I know that. The point is that diesel cars and trucks are subject to emissions standards. I would doubt any DMV would allow you to title a Roxor as a street legal vehicle because it doesn't meet safety and emissions standards.

Emission standards for manufacturers, yes. Not for your annual registration and inspection. That's what they are talking about. Currently diesels only have to pass a safety inspection.

The point remains. Walk into your Texas DMV with an off road title and see if they allow you to register it. Didn't multiple states including Texas unregister Ariel Atoms?

Maybe some states will let it slide, but I would expect the Feds to call foul at some point.

On a simpler note, what do you folks that have a Roxor think of them? Do you like them?

I am thinking there was a rider thread on here back when they first came out & this topic was searched. Try a search.

Must be doing something right, the aftermarket accessories have exploded online. If they were having issues, there would not be many aftermarket itens!

I read the dirtlegal link near the top of the thread and then read a link within it. It appears these guys can get it licensed in Utah and somewhere back east..was it Vermont maybe? Then they warn you that your home state may not accept the vehicle as road legal when you go to transfer it to your resident state registration.

I am not sure how this would work long term as most states have laws that you have to register an out of state car within 30 days. Maybe you rent a long term P.O. box in Utah as a "residence." Another issue will be insurance. I am not sure how insurance companies would treat a Roxor.

I don't know about the vehicle process, but dirt bikes are made street legal all the time. Even in TX. Slap a light kit and turn signals on it, get an MVI, and away you go. I've even seen plates on Mules, etc, in some gated communities.

Yeah, should be as easy as getting a Mule or fancy golfcart licensed
