Given how this would be the best board to search for the best surf in Texas I would love some recommendations .

I don't know about Port A. or N. Padre, but S Padre sucks anymore. All the beach re-nourishment has filled in the bars, and the waves are just mush burgers.

Horrace Caldwell Pier in Port A, or Packery. Packery is nice because you can surf either the south or the north side depending on the prevailing wind to give you a little calmer area to paddle out.

Surf in general is pretty choppy and not the best. We do get some clean /nice days but they are few and far between. But we do what we can w/ what we've got!

If you can surf Texas, you can surf anywhere.

There are live surf cams you can check for current conditions. When it looks surfable for you, match the forecast to the favorable conditions and then make the three hour drive.

My son has been surfing Port A for over 10 years. The pier area is the best, but you can also go down between marker 4 and 15 (I think) and find some decent waves.

Stop by the surf shop and ask Ted he can tell you where to go.

I think swell info is messed up right now. I read somewhere they're trying to fix it but still looks weird. Cams are always a good bet and if you can find a shop or site that posts reports for where you want to go. One site somebody suggested was windfinder.com. Gonna keep an eye on that one until swell info gets right again.

I'm on the upper coast and if windfinder is right for this weekend, I'll be fishing like lazarus_dc said!

Freeport Surfside at the pier. Texas doesn't have great or even good surfing. Port A is for fishing. Port I is best on the Boca Chica side of the channel but it's all goofy and it's difficult to get there.
