I was at a cowhorse show at the Will Rodgers Center at the same time as this auction. It was pretty cool to see all of those mounts in one place. The walrus mount sold for $11k and it's oosick aka ***** bone sold for $5500. If you could think of a trophy animal, there was a mount or two of it there.

Holy hell. Somebody has shot virtually every living creature to walk the earth. I like how this list is pages long and then says many more. Honestly I'm surprised some of that safari stuff is even still legal.

Go talk to some of the top tier Safari Club guys and you'll be amazed. One of the top dudes from the Arkansas chapter is good friends with my dad and we've been out to his trophy hall. When I say trophy hall, I don't mean hallway. We're talking like... separate building, gathering hall type hall. I consider myself to be pretty well versed in regards to game animals and he showed me some stuff that I haven't ever even heard of, much less seen before. The coolest to me... he actually legally was able to shoot an Aardwolf. Apparently the only one that had been given a tag for in years. Pretty cool little critter.

Hang on one second. I got distracted by all the cool taxidermy. One of the items is a license for prostitution issued in 1870 for La Grange Texas!

My favorite... The elusive Jackalope! This is close with the squirrel in the canoe. Haha

I long for the day when we turn our backs on the moral cesspool we live in today and return to Traditional Texas family values.

this one is actually from Dodge City - note the name of the Sheriff who signed it. I'm assuming that is not an original and probably a fake. As they all might be.

Never studied up on them but I know there's lots of fakes out there. Same as the ***** house tokens.

I've seen these exact items before.

Last time, I bid on a skunk mount as a gag item. I won the auction with an online bid, but then they said I had to show up in person and I had to win in person too...wtf?!? It all seemed really shady...how can you win an online auction to then have to show up to bid again?

Pass...

Dearest Abigail,

I am writing you this letter because I have been detained these many weeks in the lovely town of La Grange, TX. If not for the kind hospitality two proper young southern ladies I'm afraid all hope would have been lost. I am loathe to say but I have had to spend my last $5 bank note for room and board so it may be many more weeks before I am able to return to College Station. I am thinking of you often and will be back in your arms in Aggieland before the thanksgiving game against the those dastardly longhorns.

PS. I have enclosed a picture of myself with my new best friend. I have named him Reveille and he is a good boy.
