Howdy everyone, Summer is about to roll around and I have a kayak that I like to fish out of. I normally stick to the lights near Jamaica Beach and catch trout. I was curious if y'all could offer me some pointers on any other good places to fish for reds or trout around this area since i launch my kayak from there. Thanks in advance.

Fish around the cuts in the geotubes. Don't fish the bottom too close to the tubes. Careful where you park.

The flats on the west side of Jamaica beach are pretty good in a kayak. It's really shallow in there but great for kayak fishing. I guess the eastern side is probably just as good, but I always fished the west side because it was closer. The canals can be fun too, especially at night over a green light.

Eckharts Bayou

Bob Smith road, half way down- launch third kayak on the west side.
Far East side of Jamaica Beach, launch there
Sportsman road- far west end
