Looking for a few pointers on pesticide and fungicide control of a June Gold peach tree in Hays county. Yes, "a" = 1 for now at least. Its a bare root tree that has been in the ground 3 years and was successfully protected against the few hard freezes this past winter. Not really 'shaped' or pruned yet.

Partial petal fall is ongoing, with the ends of fruit poking through in a dozen or so locations. Total blooms from fruiting to barely budding are approximately 5-6 dozen currently.

No obvious bugs or critters visible yet. I did notice on one branch that sap was dripping a bit from further up the branch. some type of borer?

Looking for recommendations on a fruit tree spray type ( permitherin, or other) as well as intervals. In my research, killing bees / pollinators is a concern of applying at wrong time, but i tend to think the scale, or lack thereof doesnt make this as applicable.

Same for fungicide, no obvious problems visible to my untrained eye as of yet.

Anyways, looks like I may finally have a decent crop this year and looking for recommendation to realize its full potential.

Prune to a somewhat "bowl" shape, where the tree becomes as wide as tall (sort of). Thin the fruit to at a minimum 6" apart.
Have a plan to kill every squirrel in a 2-mile radius.
The oozy, sappy stuff is probably ... Stone fruit canker
Enjoy!!

My uncle has great peaches (Bell County) and I will share all I know about his maintenance/care program.......water them while they are young, trap as many raccoons as you can and once you retire get a red rider bb gun and shoot grasshoppers off of them in the summer time.

Thanks. I have a call in to the Agrilife office earlier this week as indicated by this document but the specialist is at the Austin rodeo and probably wont be able to respond for a week at least.

They are zinc lovers - especially on high pH soils. There is a reason they do so well on some of the sandy and neutral pH soils around Fredericksburg.
