Never stayed at the improved park campgrounds but if you do the backpacking trail to one of the unimproved sites it's a really nice place to stay

Have done winter tent camping at both improved campsites and on the trails over the years and have enjoyed both.

We live in Cedar Park and have stayed there a number of times.

Cedar Breaks, Jim Hogg, and Russel Park are all pretty nice. Russel Park is the only one I thought had a decent swim/beach area.

Are you looking to tent camp or do you have a travel trailer/fifth wheel (glamping)? The parks there are pretty decent for both.

If tent camping, they do have sites with water and electric and most have good tree cover. If glamping, you will have to use the dump station on your way out.

Camped there many times with the Boy Scouts when I was a leader. Always enjoyed the parks on Lake Gtown.

There are fire rings at cedar breaks. There is a dock but it has a sign that says for boat loading and unloading only but people still fish off of it. There is plenty of areas to bank fish.

Well, if you camp at Russel Park you are about 3 minutes from my casa if you run out of beer or just need someone top come eat that last steak!

All the parks are nice and clean. Most have fire rings and some have actual raised 'pits' you can cook on (but bring a grill to throw on top that's clean) you can also get secluded sites or ones in more general areas. We haven't actually camped out there for a long, long time but go over a lot to use the lake and cook out at open camp sites or join friends.
