How long do you want to ignore this user?
Has anyone been lately? Taking my wife out shooting this evening and since I had never been there, was wondering what to expect.

Thanks.

I go every now and then when I can't get out to our place (~4 hr drive) to shoot. It's alright. Decent 5 stand right there at the clubhouse/office building. Very nice skeet bays and a functional/nice trap range. Sporting clays is so-so. Always have a few machines that are empty or dead. Rifle range has a bit of a weird set up with the overhanging wood (to prevent shots over their berm) and only the right two bays will allow shots out to 200 yards. Pistol bays are decent.

As with most public ranges, main issue with rifle and pistol are the general public that display zero firearm safety. Last time I was there (I had two brand new shooters in the truck - never held a gun before) a couple of tacticool mid-late 20's dudes were there with .22's and AR's slung around their torso on the 50 yard rifle range. They were loaded and "practicing" mounting and shooting their weapons from a cross shoulder sling position and the muzzles were flashing backwards and flagging everyone on the range. Think Daniel Day Lewis from Last of the Mohicans but with a lot less skill and a doofus factor of 10/10. I didn't even get my stuff out, drove up to the office, told the staff, and left. Those stories exist at all public ranges.

Customer service/staff friendliness is hit or miss. Sometimes good, sometimes not. The range is occasionally closed even when it's supposed to be open. And to make matters worse, most of the time you can't get an answer on the phone or website before you drive out there. They claim it's due to rain/flooding but I think it's often poor staffing or employee responsibility or they just don't feel like opening. And you pay for rifle and pistol bays by the hour which annoys some but doesn't bother me.

We used them for skeet tournaments/fundraisers before when I was in school.

Skeet stations are good, but I have no experience on the pistol/rifle range there.

I wouldn't hesitate to support them, personally.

Thanks for the information. We usually don't go to ranges because we have family land that we can usually shoot on, but she just got a new pistol and she's itching to shoot it.

Thanks again!

If your just going to shoot a pistol(s) you might consider the indoor range at Champion Firearms in CS. From 2-4 Mon-Thurs they have 1/2 off lane fees. I think an hour is around $6-$7. Jacketed ammo only.

Congrats on marrying a quality gal. Pretty good feeling to hear the words "can we go shooting?" from the wife.

I've gone once.

Got there end of the day, they wanted us to pay up-front. We thought we would do both rifle and pistol. Never got to pistol but still was charged for it.

had some tacticool guy show up to shoot their ARs.
They began rapid fire (against the rules) and the range "master" came down.
They said it was me and my friend shooting rapid fire, the staff member began to get on us and threatened to kick us out until I showed him the only rifles we had were Mosin Nagants.
He left quickly after that and I have never been back.

Go to Arrowhead, they're much more laid back. Just don't be stupid and all is well.

Went there several times.
Some with friends.
Had a great time shooting and the others (Not with my group) seemed to be fairly competent and respectful as well.

Shot clays there last weekend. Half the course was flooded and several machines not working. Charged 34 bucks to basically shoot 4 stations. Won't be back.
