I know there are several threads on Custom Boots but the look to refer to Cowboy and dress boots. Is there anyone (preferably Houston area) that will also do Custom work or hunting boots? For work and field hunting I like a plain leather roper with rubber soles. I used to buy a Justin (can't find the model) - but they stopped making them.

I have a smaller foot, which is hard enough to find, but have some funky feet which makes it hard to find something that fits well and feels good. The best fitting boots I have were custom but they are traditional cowboy boots with leather soles etc. The guys I have used in the past for my custom boots dont do anything with rubber soles etc......

Not custom, but have you tried Nocona?

They are my go to work boot, specifically bc of the comfort. Great leather sole. Wears out faster than rubber, but well made, and in the USA. Price is right too.

In Amarillo so not close to Houston. However they do offer a free sizing kit. I know a guy the has had his Becks for over 35 years. Lots of feedlot cowboys wear them and they put boots through absolute abuse.
