Finally getting my patio sorted out and intend to screen it in with windows, add a vent fan, and install a high end grill and sink out there. Have looked at Fire Magic and Lynx and like what both offer. Others to look at / avoid?

Gas/propane or charcoal as well? BGE/KJ/Primo should be considered, IMO.

My setup is for propane. Would like flexibility to smoke wood chips, so a burner box would be good to have. Really just using it for grilling more than anything, and not so much long term cooks.

Have a fire magic 660 echelon. Very well built but temperamental to cook with. BBQ guys on line is best place to buy.

LOL. All of their stuff is 2-4x the cost of anything I've ever heard of.

Hard to set and maintain temp. Barely move the dial and it changes +- 50 deg.

For those prices, there better be a button that sends a hand to give me a tug while I'm grilling.

I just received my Fire Magic Echelon 790, f-ing beautiful. The assembly wasn't terrible, but they wrap the crap out of every exterior surface which is a beotch to get off.

I cranked it up today with a rotisserie pork loin, using the smoker box & rear burner. It was very good, but this is a beast and I will need some trial & error to get my mojo going again. I plan some ribeyes tomorrow, can't wait.

Twin Eagles or Firemagic if you want to use a charcoal insert. We carry them both along with Lynx. We (Creekstone Outdoor Living) offer free delivery in the greater Houston area. We also offer free design/layout service with the purchase of equipment.

How would you say Firemagic vs Lynx vs Twin Eagles stack up? They all sound good.

In Lynx we only promote the all infrared. Great cooking grill but with its recent price increases it is the highest priced.

Firemagic is great and in the aurora line it is probably the best value. The echelon is still a good value and a great cooking grill. Echelon also include the charcoal tray. Optional viewing window is pretty sweet. This is the grill I personally cook on.

The twin eagles would probably be my choice today. Best fit and finish of all 3. Internal rotisserie motor and spit storage in drip pan are both really sweet features. Wider warming rack that can be installed in 3-4 different positions plus a stowaway position. Charcoal capability as well. I'd give this grill a hard look over the other two if I were you.

Also, the new twin eagles pellet is insane!!! Just an incredible grill. Touch screen lcd, WiFi, front loading hopper, 3 levels, rotiss option. Grill, bake, smoke, sear, etc. It does it all!

All three brands are American made and you won't be disappointed any way you decide.

We have all three on the floor to check out in person.

I have the Lynx Pro 42" with two ceramic burners and one IR burner, I really like it. I also have a XL BGE too, the Lynx gets used 3 to 1 over the BGE, but it is nice to have both.

I have had a Twin Eagles the last few years and love it! Delta Heat is also made by Twin Eagles for a lesser cost. Both are American made with fantastic warranties. If those are a little too high for the budget, i would personally look at the Blaze lineup. Also, i know with technology and everything being bought online nowadays; i highly recommend going to a brick and mortar to get something like this. I would also recommend a small business/mom and pop brick and mortar; not corporate owned; to get the information and customer service you will need for a purchase like this. If you are in the FW area, would definitely recommend Backyard Grilling Co in Benbrook.

Weber Summit. I've had mine for 10 years and is great. 6 burner, searing station, wood box, rotisserie. It is sturdy and easy to service. Ran about $2000 back then.

I don't mean to hijack so I apologize in advance. I've been looking at built in charcoal options and was looking at the Firemagic Legacy 30" grill. Maybe I'm crazy for being a charcoal purist, but I've just always preferred it to my gas grills. I'm intrigued by this Echelon though with the charcoal inserts. How does it compare to a strict gas and should I go that route instead? I'm planning on a Pitmaker Safe for smoking so just need a good solid grill for everything else. Thanks in advance!

I outfit my outdoor cooking area two years ago and my decision was mainly based on a review sheet I found from some installer in California, I decided to go with the Blaze professional line for the natural gas grill as well as the Blaze kamado style smoker that is cast aluminum. ( I liked the idea of an indestructible smoker as I knew I would break a ceramic) I haven't had any issues with either and use them at least weekly. Their distribution arm is in Baton Rouge and I was able to get a decent discount by calling them directly and ordering multiple products.....good luck.

Get a good kamado style smoker (Green Egg or Kamado Joe) for high and low temp cooking and whatever gas grill is on sale at Costco for everything else.

Y'all need to check out Patterson Pits in Alvarado, TX. They don't have to be on a trailer and are the most efficient pit out there. Can't recommend him high enough. https://www.facebook.com/664119283963293/posts/680758225632732/

Wound up going with the 36 inch Twin Eagles all conventional, with a 24 inch power burner on the side and a 42 inch 2x 1000 cfm Blaze vent.

BBQGuys was super helpful and gave me almost $1000 off on the vent.

Look forward to getting this patio enclosed and tiled up before the mosquito plague hits.
