Yes. There have been some nice threads on here as of late about showing. Then some butt hurt looser will come on here and make a comment about FFA standing for fathers feeding animals. Then make excuses why they never won. If you can handle that ask all the questions you need as some of us will answer almost any question you have.

Nothing about that. I am looking for some show goats for the next coming year. I feed with my kids and they walk and set them up. They have to do that so the animal knows them. My opinion is that it's a great thing for the kids. I could let them play ps4 or whatever 247. I really would like to get another line in my area. It seams everybody gets their goats from the same place.

Flach Livestock. Good people, reasonable. Their animals have won all over Texas. Will help you if you want one to take to county or a major.

Flachs have two kids who aren't too many years removed from showing. And both were good showers. They will help you.

This was one animal I hated showing during all my show years. Showed from 3rd grade to graduation. I hated goats with a passion. I showed hogs, lambs, goats, and heifers. Lambs were the second PITA.

If I had to do it again, I would only do Hogs and cattle. Enjoyed showing heifers a ton.

Absolutely this. Hogs, steers, and even lambs take real work to raise and show. The modern trend with goats should fade away.

And yes, we owned a few goats when I was young - they're a real pain in the neck and will always get into something mischievous.

Our son is t old enough yet, but we breed and raise show goats outside of College Station. Our primary business is the breeding show side of it though. Just won Reserve Overall Buck and bred the Reserve Overall Doe at Fort Worth. We play with the wether side, just not our bread and butter. But if you need help, let me know!

Don't know where you are located, but I'd recommend FFC Show Goats in Cleburne/Grandview. Known them since I was in kindergarten. Fantastic people. Certainly not a big time operation with tons of ribbons on the wall, but are also a lot cheaper than most. They have really good quality for the price.

Agree with some of what is said here. Depends on lots of factors. I have access to lots of goats but don't raise them myself.

Flach is a good place to go as I know them very well. They have goats in all price ranges. They are smart enough to have two very different lines so they don't go down just one path. Their kids did well won a class of downs in Houston reserved downs in San Antonio. Won light goat division in Houston and grand goat in Kerrville. Placed a lot more. Didn't start out early enough. Kids were in junior high and almost high school when they got help. Family is a ranching legacy for a long time. They knew all about livestock just had to learn the show arena again. They would be top 5 places to look in my mind for options. Good enough goats to play at all levels but not going to stick it to you if they can. Always willing to help.

Jamie's goats are awesome that being said you pay for them As well. No doubt he is a good place to look. Love his goats can't ever afford what I would like to feed.

As for the part about goats going away good luck. The only thing that slowed them down was the crazy price tag for a while. Projects are never easy. I've fed them all.

I can't PM you but if you give me a contact I am willing to point you in right direction and it will never include one of these sorry fitter options. I believe this is a family project and no room for the tools this barn now has walking around in their little team
Logo hoodies. Wish they would go get a real job instead of pealing money out of the youths pockets.
