my mesquite tree has put on new leaves over the past few weeks. I'm here in Marble Falls and am curious if others are seeing this happening in other parts of the state

I am on the west side of Houston and have a Mayhaw and a Walter's Viburnum that have already started blooming and my Bradford Pear isn't far behind them.

Mesquites are usually the last ones to bud out, along with Pecans.
You sure it's a mesquite? Very unusual.

I live just north of Georgetown and have yet to see any leaf growth on my mesquite trees, but some of the lantana still hasn't fully defoliated, nor has my Lacey Oak, and I have some plumbago that still has green growth at the base. This has been a strange, wet winter.

We have milkweed that still hasn't frozen back yet. We have queen and monarch caterpillars still munching away on it...

Well that might explain my allergies going crazy. Forestry degree and I'm allergic to mesquite. Have you noticed trees flowering as well?

Winter has been warm and wet due to El Nio / La Nia cycle. The mesquite around my place isn't greening.

Get some Cedar fever/HEB Clear drops from HEB. They have everything imaginable in them to help you fight allergies naturally. The wife was dying from cedar and now it's manageable.

Took allergy shots for 5 years and had no issues. In October doctor thought we'd try stopping them....starting em back up next week. Are those hay fever drops at HEB on shelf or do I have to go to pharmacy?

On the shelf at the top, above all of the other allergy stuff.

Young mesquites can be tricked by the weather. Look at the old ones to know for sure if winter is over.

Buddy bought a new place full of mesquite. Trying to get out there for a work weekend and will check his trees. He has old and new. 30 miles west of Goldwhaite. So might be too north for this thread right now.

A friend posted today a Bluebonnet bloomed in Kingsland, but Mesquites here are still waiting.
