So my girls will be 6 and well my boy is 11 days old. I know the wife doesn't like the recoil of my 7mag and the girls while tall and lanky for 6 year olds may not like it either.
In my mind I have a vision. This would be something all the family could shoot and recoil wouldn't be an issue. Something with readily available ammo.
Does anybody make a 16in bull barrel .308 bolt action on a chasssis that uses AR stocks
I'm in the process of making another deer stand on or place and wouldn't expect shots to be more than 175 yards.
At least the shorter barrel it should be easy to manuver in a deer stand and the adjust stock should make it really compact. We don't do a lot of walking so weight isn't an issue and for me heavier guns shoot better from a rest.
Is this something I'm going to have to piece together or does the market make something that scratches my itch. I'm in no big hurry because I'd expect the girls arnt going to be shooting a deer for a year or two.
As much of an AR I am, I just don't feel right giving a kid a semiauto deer rifle and at this point I don't have anything in a short action.
