I did a search and saw a couple of scattered mentions of Optics Planet on this site but didn't really see any mention of their customer service.

Last week I ordered a pair of vortex binos from them after I missed the Black Friday deal at cabelas. Had a 10% off code and it almost made it the same as cabelas BF price.

Anyway, it's been 6 days and the website keeps telling me that my order is "processing" and nothing is happening.

I decided to check some consumer sites and let's just say... not great.

I'm going to wait until the end of the weekend to see if anything happens before contacting the service dept.

Anyone had anything like this happen?

Never had an issue with them, although I do recall them being a little slower to ship than others.

Sorry, but I've had similar problems. They had a special about this time last year and I bought $1000 in AR parts to complete a really nice Grendel build. My excitement on how good the deal was tanked the next morning as I received a variety of emails saying everything was back ordered and had no timetable for arrival. During the process of selecting and ordering there was no warning whatsoever the items were not in stock. They wouldn't honor the pricing for anything that didn't ship within the timeframe of the 48-hour deal.

After that I've never thought about giving them business again.

I've never had any issues with them in the past.

Used them several times and it's been hit and miss. I'll continue to shop with them on good deals, but mainly on stuff I don't mind waiting on.

I'll never order anything from Optics Planet again. Dealing with them was terrible. Their website will tell you they have everything in stock, then you'll end up waiting and waiting and waiting. And after a few emails back and forth, you'll find out they are having trouble finding the product. I don't like them.

I've ordered from them a few times. It may take a couple days before they get moving on your order but to a degree we've all got pretty spoiled.

One time the day after I ordered I got a phone call from them explaining the binoculars I ordered weren't in stock at the moment and it may take a few days. They offered to give me the next magnification up, which was more expensive, for the same price and they would ship them out that. I declined but got an email maybe two days later max that they had shipped.

If there's something I specifically need that I can't find elsewhere or they're the best price, I'd have no problem ordering from them again. Not every day or every single thing, but one offs aren't bad.

Never had a problem but when I order deals I expect delays. Happiness is often dependent on managing expectations.

They are notorious for selling things they don't have in stock. They will eventually fill your order, just remember on stuff like Black Friday sales, there is probably a handful or more of people who ordered the same thing...

I get a lot of business from people who are pissed off at their practices.

Interesting to hear everyone having issues with them. I've bought a handful of things from them and been pretty happy overall.

Ordered a RMR from them on 22nd, received on 26th or 27th.

I've only had one bad experience, but I did eventually get the product. That said, they are not a company I recommend to folks. There are enough other companies I'd rather deal with.

No issues with optics planet. But I've only ordered handguards on discount. There is an eBay seller in elpaso. Sellers name is opticsbuddy. If you message him he will give you best price he can. Fast delivery.

I just bought a pair of Vortex HD 12X50s for $480. Called and got free 2-day shipping. I'll let you know if they show up today.

One purchase of a scope and they were fine. I was in no rush since I ordered a rifle and was waiting on it as well
