Finished up some bigger projects and dropped them off yesterday:

Walnut headboard bed:

Honey locust table:

Pecan table from slabs I milled up:

This was the center cut of the tree. It had the most character, but also the most defects and voids/cracks that needed to get filled.

It also had metal every cut of the tree we did. I pulled most out before the slabs were flattened, marked where I pulled them, reinserted them with a little epoxy and then sanded them flush so you see them in the finish.

I think that slab had 7 pieces of metal (various nails and a lot of 22 bullets).

Agrams, beautiful work as always.

Looking for a mesquite mantle for fireplace for house we are building. 64" to 70". 8" to 12" deep, and 5-6" thick. Natural edge.

Any recommendations on supplier, emphasis on DFW area or within a 3 hour drive.
We may not always get what we want. We may not always get what we need. Just so we don't get what we deserve.

Honey locus is gorgeous, smells funny, and makes good firewood too.

that honey locust is dense and heavy as heck. I have enough to make a few more tables and maybe a desk I am going to play around with. I bought every slab from a log that was ~30" in diameter so I could get a bulk discount. Now I just need to consume it in projects.

the two biggest pieces are 27"x140", so I could make a bookmatch nearly 50" wide and about 11.5' long.

now how I would move that damn thing is another question.

My wife and I got agrams to mill the pecan tree and the table is the first big project from the slabs. I can tell you it looks even better in person than in the pictures. Awesome job by agrams. The bullets and nails only add to the character and history of the tree\table.
