I donate to specific charities in conjunction with my Combined Federal Campaign, which is a tax deductible program for anyone working with the federal government.

What I like is that they have a grading program for charities based on how much of the money you give actually goes to their defined mission. I found a similar website called Charity Navigator that does the same thing.

Houston Welcomes Refugees - My wife helped start this one and was the Director of Operations until Feb of this year, so i'm kinda biased on this one.

Then I give to Global Gates and Pioneers but that is supporting specific missionaries that I personally know, so not sure whether it would have the same appeal to others or not.
