So the rib wanted to sit outside on the porch yesterday only if I could fire up our tall patio heater. After 30 minutes without success i turned to the ol interwebs and had a couple of things pop up to troubleshoot. Turns out the anti-tilt switch is stuck causing the pilot to die when the variable knob is released.
So, after watching Youtube for 3 minutes, I unplugged the two wires attached to the switch and mated them together therefore bypassing the switch.
Presto, pilot light now stays lit and the heater is running like a champ.
Is it really necessary for me to replace this tilt switch going forward? I understand the point of it and am on the fence considering I have a little one running around.
