invited to skeet tournament at a really nice sporting lodge....what to wear?

I'm a novice at best and have never been to a sporting club like this. What should I wear. I get the feeling jeans and a t-shirt wouldn't be acceptable.

If your talking about the pipeliner shoot on Sunday, jeans and a polo. Which is my go to attire unless it's super hot then it's shorts and a polo. I've shot at a lot of sporting clay events and jeans/shorts and a polo is pretty standard attire.

When in doubt think golf attire, slacks at the most and still a polo. If I'm wearing my shooting vest I often roll with a fishing shirt underneath.

I second this. I've been to a lot of trap and skeet events for work and always wore a Columbia shirt, or an Aggie polo. Wear something comfortable. No one is going to care.

Georgia is going to be little dressier than Texas. The golf shirt is a good recommendation. At a charity event your likely to see Khaki trousers or shorts, depending on the temperatures (not cargo shorts). You'll see long sleeved (Vinyard Vines, etc) shirts rolled up to the elbows.

Because, the reality is that it does matter. Be a grown man, not a child, learn how to dress for the occasion. If you're going to be invited to grown up events, dress the part.

That doesnt mean a suit and tie for this event, obviously. But checking on dress code and not showing up in flip flops matters.

Consider dressing in direct proportion, if not a little less, with how well you shoot.

If you show up looking like one of the guys on OEFMs post and go 0-fer, you'll just look ridiculous twice.
