Is there a good way to kill moss without hurting the aquatic life in a lake/pond?

I remember growing up my dad would use rotenone but I think that was more for when he wanted to "start over" and restock with catfish...

A quick search suggested ground up corn?

Any help would be appreciated!

TIA!

Moss or Algae? Excess algae is typically a heat, nutrient, and oxygenation issue. If you have fertilizer runoff reaching the pond, you are always going to fight it. Carp typically won't help, and may make it worse by increasing the nitrogen in the water. If it is some type of submerged or floating vegetation you are talking about, carp may help.

rotenone is fish poison and is used to kill fish
grass carp don't eat algae or "moss"
an herbicide is what you would have to use. but you can only treat a small amount at a time. kill too much at once and the dead decaying vegetation will use all the oxygen in the pond and kill the fish.
