I'm looking to add another chainsaw in the 60cc range so I can run a 24"+ bar.

I'm leaning stihl right now because I have a couple stihl 2 stroke items now and I've been happy with them and there are two servicing dealers within 10 miles. My only hang up is all of the bad reviews point to poor Stihl service if something breaks. I've never had to take anything in so I've never dealt with it before.

The closest Husqvarna dealer with that saw is 45 miles away. There are several Husqvarna services close but it looks like they are all on the construction side.

Is there any reason I should go with the Husqvarna 365 or will I be happy with the Stihl 391 and just hope I don't need service?

Ford for trucks.

Deere for tractors/ZTR.

Stihl for trimmers and saws.

Chevy for trucks

Kubota for tractors

Stihl for trimmers and saws.

Easy choice.

Poor customer service you never need is better than great customer service you use frequently.

Buy the Stihl.

Edit: I'll add that my Dad has the Rancher, infrequent use, but no issues with it. My FIL has a couple of the the Stihls, frequent use, very few problems.

This. I was going to say, I can't comment on their customer service as the one we've had has never had a problem that big in its many years of service. Usually it's just something small Dad can fix and we keep plugging away.

I vote stihl.

Have the 391 and have had no issues. Run their fuel and it will run forever

Ive got an echo CS590 that is 60cc and can use 24 or 27 inch bars and it's a good saw.

Ford for trucks

International for tractors

Stihl for trimmers and saws

Hey this should tell you something we are all agreeing on stihl.

Second using there fuel. If you cut a lot I mix fuel and then dump it into something else and run their pre mix fuel in it to finish up. Never let your mix fuel set in the saw. Premix seems to last forever with no ill effects.

Thanks for the help. I'll swing by tomorrow and pick it up.

I've never used their premix before. I buy ethanol free, add a little stabil and the needed oil. I usually buy their oil 6 pack when I purchase a new stihl product to double the warranty. I have a 1 gallon can that I give a quick shake and refill out of. I've been running 5 years with that method without any issues.

If you have source for ethanol free gas you should be good then. I bought a gallon of their premix with a weed eater because I got an extra year or two warranty if I did.

On repairs go to YouTube and do it yourself. Most of it is pretty easy. I had a set of stihl trimmer and edger that hung on my wall for about 4 years they wanted a couple hundred each to get them running. I went to YouTube for an hour and then went and bought about $20 in parts new fuel line oil and air filters and fixed them both and they ran perfect. I sold them on Craig's list for almost what I paid for them. Fast forward a few years and mowing my own lawn again. Went and bought stihl equipment again. They are great. I have a 251 chainsaw and love it.

Best advice I ever got on chainsaws was buy the biggest engine you can find on the lightest saw you can find. I don't even know if they sell my base 251 anymore it doesn't have any of the new start assist or tooless chain adjustment all that stuff just added weight. Been wanting a 261 for a long time just can't justify it for the amount of time I use a chainsaw.

I agree on biggest engine/lightest saw, Stihl has the pro series that are great power to weight. I run a 261CM and it has the power of a bigger displacement saw with the weight of a smaller saw. They're proud of them but it's a cutting machine.
Side note I use avgas in it with the stihl synthetic oil, runs great and much cheaper than their premix, especially when burning a gallon a month in the trimmer and saw.

I came to this board with a similar question several months ago...along with researching other places. best advice I got was to try them both and see which one feels better in your hands.

I ended up getting the Husky with a 28" blade. I've used the crap out of it and it's a beast. Easy start every time, never so much as a hicup and it is very comfortable using for long periods. I've used mine for felling large mesquite and then milling with a chainsaw mill jig. Love it.

Husky
Reading online seems that it is torn between stihl and husky. Read lot 9f guys out west in forestry used the husky. Seems like a ford vs chevy debate. I was all about stihl until i read opinions online from guys that use them everyday in the mountains out west. That convinced me to reconsider my previous bias toward buying a stihl.

I have had no issues with mine. 450 20 in blade, took down a 31 in diameter post oak 3 weeks ago

Just looked up 365...that thing looks like an animal
