Whatever you've got....working dog, pet, whatever...post some pics/stories.

These are my two: Both Great Pyrenees mixes. Male on the left is an 80 lbs Golden/Pyr mix, female on the right is a 65 lbs Aussie/Pyr mix.

They're both super protective of my pregnant wife, and both wonderful dogs.

Post pics of your pups, share stories, whatever. We need a dog thread.

The male is a BMC/Pit and the easiest dog I've ever owned.

The female is a BMC and the hardest I've ever owned.. and my favorite. She's super protective of the family and the male super protective of her.

Got a mixed blue and red heeler named Bandit. He's pretty smart and knows quite a few tricks, but mostly just chases cows in a circle rather than really "working them". He's more of my parents dog, but I claim him as mine....most of the time....

Username checks out. We love our swampcollies; ~4 years old & 5 mo right now. Both males from field lines. One is my gun dog, the other is going to be a companion and maybe some dove hunting later on.

I'll see if I can post pics, we reside on five acres. Mutts from working stock have served us best (BMC, Catahoula, and blue heeler). Just got a pup last week, half blue heeler half Catahoula. Named her Dixie

Her is my Black Russian Terrier. Beaux has been the best dog I've ever had. Bar none.

He's starting to slow down and has lots of lipomas. Unfortunately, I don't think he's got more than 2 years left.

This is Pepper - she's a black lab I picked up from another poster here, and had trained by Best Retrievers once I realized she was a little more headstrong than my last pup. Great hunting dog with a ton of energy and drive for days.

Put a Junior Hunter title on her last summer, and currently debating with the wife as to whether or not we're going to breed her after the upcoming season. Her pedigree is awesome - if you look at Best's stud service page, you'll see listings for her dad and two of her uncles (one from each side) - it's just a question of getting the wife on board.

These are our boys Bentley and Bosco.

Bentley is a Golden Pyrenees that we adopted from one of the Golden Retriever rescue groups. Bosco is a mixed breed pooch that adopted us. He came walking out of the woods at our place about 14 years ago one day when we were working in the yard and didn't want to leave. Didn't feed him initially and only gave him water. Slept on our back porch 2 nights in a row. We briefly tried to find his owners but after a couple days, my wife didn't want to give him up. In the pictures, Bentley was 1 year old and weighed about 90 lbs. He is now 4 and weighs somewhere around 130-140. Has not been on a scale in over a year so not exactly sure.

This is Turdle because he's my little ****head. But he's been a great dog! Really pleased with his demeanor and his personality. My dad tried to steal him and is my dad's golf buddy now. Always wanted a lab and I got a great one here.

Don't see many other Golden/Pyr mixes out there.

This is my boy, Gunnar. He's purebred, AKC registered, all white German Shepherd. We had dogs in the house when I was a kid growing up, but they were always "family dogs". I got Gunnar after college when I was out on my own and he was my first dog that was "mine" so he's pretty special to me.

He's very loyal, smart, and super protective. Very weary of strangers, but once you are in his "pack", he would give his life for you. Basically everything that German Shepherds are supposed to be. I feel good leaving my wife and kids at home when I travel knowing he is there to help protect them.

This is Paisley. AKC registered, purebred yellow lab. She's fat, lazy, and doesn't retrieve anything except food to her mouth. I often refer to her as Meat Wagon. She loves kids and will lick your face off.

Not around anymore, but this was Tank. He was a 100+ pound baby.

Brisket - 11 month 105 lb Bernese Mountain Dog.

He's pretty big and will probably gain another 15-30lbs but he's a sweetie. Smaller dogs usually bark and snap at him given his size but he'll drop down and try and get on their level.

Nice. Wife really wanted a big dog, so we were looking at Berns along with Pyrs and Anatolian Mastiffs.

He's got a great temperament, great around other dogs, adults, and kids. He does shed quite a bit. We try and brush him weekly and that helps some. He always wants to be near humans. Anytime we are home, he's in the same room as one of us.

Unfortunately, lifespan isn't great and they can have hip problems like a lot of big dogs. I did quite a bit of research on breeders and found one in Colorado. Not a lot of Breeders in Texas.

This is my golden named Lucia (as in the island St. Lucia). Greatest dog my wife and I could have asked for. She can hunt, but also be the sweetest inside dog as well.

John Wayne, my 4 month old golden out of Ponderay Goldens. He's smart as hell and ahead of the learning curve on where we expected him to be. Loves water, retrieves great, can follow a scent trail practically on a dead sprint, has all basic obedience down... just a great dog so far.

That's true. I had never heard of that combo until we started looking to adopt a Golden Retriever (would have been our 2nd). When we started looking on the websites, my wife saw Bentley and said she wanted to go check him out. He had been picked up as a stray in NE Texas but had absolutely no known health or behavioral issues. He was being fostered at a vet's office in Houston. When we got there and they brought him out, it was like love at first sight for both of them. Bentley jumped up and put his paws on my wife's shoulders and gave her the "wanna take me home?" look. That was all she wrote! We had already been approved by the rescue group so we took him home with us.

My 2 year old Maltipoo, Max. He's the only small dog I've ever owned and I have no complaints. He loves being out in the country, likes being in back of the truck while i'm filling feeders and acts like a dog that doesn't weigh 17 pounds ( chasing waterfalls). He's our alarm dog and likes to keep tabs on where everybody is at in the house. Wouldn't trade him for anything

Paisley - Springer Spaniel 4 years old She is devoted to my wife.

Buster - The vet tells us he's a pit/boxer mix and about 6-7 years old. Found refuge at our place during Harvey. No chip. Posted his picture on the city lost pets and no one claimed him. Thought he would be a good watch dog but he's afraid of his own shadow. No stranger to the food bowl though. He loves my wife unconditionally. He doesn't know it but he won the lotto when he found my place.
