I got three big azaleas I planted in front of my house three years ago. One is looking rough and losing leaves. You know of any tricks to bring it back?
They need to be in a fairly well drained bed though, too much water saturation leads to root rot. Which is why most beds need to be above ground beds if you live in areas with clay soil.Och26-58-87 said:
Azalea are acid loving and water chugging shallow root plants. Use some Holly-tone fertilizer (not when in bloom), mulch, and make sure they get lots of water.

Good points. I usually assume that lots of water does not equal soaking the roots and letting them sit in too much water but it's best to be clear.schmellba99 said:They need to be in a fairly well drained bed though, too much water saturation leads to root rot. Also want an area that doesn't get full sun or shade if I remember correctly from when I was used as forced labor by Dad to plant his bushes. 40% to 60% shade I think?
