About to snag a Remington 700 Ultimate and need to get it rigged out (trigger, muzzle brake, scope, etc.). Any gunsmith recommendations? Willing to ship it where ever.

IMHO,
You don't need a muzzle break. I shoot the same weapon with four 50 grain pellets and a .458 Barnes 300 grain Originals in orange MMH sabots. In 2016, I smoked my 1st bull elk in his bed at 275 yards. Bull never got up. I use a Near MFG one piece base and move my scope over from another rifle as needed.

Recommend Ryan Hoover with R&H Firearms in Fredericksburg Texas. Man is super good and really a perfectionist. He has done work for me from threading barrels to actions and crowning...I highly recommend.

Also wanted to add that you can change the trigger yourself. I put a Timney in mine. The 700 UML is quite a weapon. I can pound steel at 300 yards reliably. Good luck!

Let me know if you have any questions about loads.

I'd hate to clean a muzzle loader with a brake on it.

I don't have a 700ML, but I've got a CVA Accura MR. I put the Nikon on mine, and it is dead on when I use a max load of Blackhorn 209 under the 250 gr Barnes T-MZ.

Finally got my muzzleloader back last week. Sent it up to a Snowy Mountain Rifles in Montana for bedding, muzzle brake, Zeiss Conquest V4 scope, trigger job, and cerakote. Had time to put around 40 rounds throughout between Friday and today. This thing is one bad mofo! Shoots smooth as can be. No issue at all cleaning it the the brake. Not sure what the big deal was about that. Spent no more than 25 seconds wiping down the ports when I was done shooting, but other than that, it was no different than cleaning one without a brake. Headed to Utah with it Tuesday to chase down desert muleys.
