Looking to do a boil on Saturday but would like to buy the crawfish today. Is that ok? If so, how do I store them?

I typically buy a day early. Trick is lots of ice to keep them asleep.

Try not to keep them in a sealed cooler. They need air to stay alive longer than a few hours

Ya, that's fine.

Cool but not cold. And let em breath

I'd up open the sack and dump em in a cooler in the garage or very shady spot in the lawn.

you could always put the hose on em and leave the drain open some on the cooler so they have a bit of water flow.

Have a coonass buddy that runs a farm. He says the colder the better(above freezing of course). A few bricks in the bottom of a cooler, lay the sack on top, unscrew the drain, cover the top with ice, leave cooler lid cracked. I've hauled 500 lbs from south la this way a number of times and never had problems with them dying.

Had some friends in high school who hosted a boil and stored theirs in a bathtub. I guess that fits all the parameters listed so far.

Of course, there was at least one escapee that was discovered crawling across the living room floor some time later.

FlyFisher,

Please post your address and what time I should be there. Would you like me to bring anything?
